At Opal, we work with a number of companies in Britain’s burgeoning creative sector.
One of those is Edinburgh-based Teviot Creative, which produces creative brand and designs for global brands including TGI Friday’s and Heineken UK. In 2016, Teviot appointed Opal as its preferred IT partner following a period of rapid expansion involving several new client wins.
Teviot was seeking an IT solution that would expand its data storage capability, include a robust disaster recovery solution and allow faster networking, as well as working towards GDPR compliance and making sure all data was safeguarded. Being a fully Microsoft-accredited partner, an Apple authorised service provider and part of the Apple Consultants Network, Opal is in the unique position of understanding a client’s IT environment regardless of the platform they use.
We delivered a new IT infrastructure for Teviot and moved the company to an Office 365 platform to improve data security, reduce costs and allow staff to share data more efficiently. We also set up a multi-site disaster recovery solution to ensure data would be readily available to the business in the event of network outages, power interruptions or hardware and software faults.
Craig Hall, managing director of Teviot, said: “Our previous IT system was no longer fit for purpose.
“We use a range of Apple devices as well as having Windows users in the business, so we needed support to integrate all of these devices into our IT network without disruption and downtime. We got in touch with the Apple Consultants Network, which is made up of independent firms offering IT services and solutions for Apple products, and they referred us to Opal to help us ensure our IT solutions were set up, configured and supported correctly.
“Since using the new system, our production times have been reduced, which is invaluable as we’re often working to tight deadlines for major brands. There’s also minimal downtime and our data storage and disaster recovery capabilities are extremely robust.”
A Jamf Integrator as well as an approved Microsoft partner, Opal works with local, national and international companies and our biggest client has more than 50 global sites and 25,000 employees worldwide.
Opal’s managing director, Andy Metcalfe, said: “Teviot wanted to work with a company that has a deep understanding of the creative industries and their business needs. We’ve provided IT solutions for many creative agencies so we have a sound knowledge of the industry and a track record of providing companies with technology solutions that can be utilised across multiple sites but always with a focus on information security.”
Our client base includes several high-profile clients in the creative sector, including reprographics firm YRG Group, publishers Random House Penguin Group and artwork specialist Vermillion. We also provide IT solutions for companies in the education, retail, legal and financial services sectors.
